The gap between people with access to digital information and communication technologies (ICT) and people without.

For many African students, access to computers and the Internet is rare or nonexistent. In Africa, there is about 1 computer for every 1,000 students. 

Without computer education and Internet access, African students won’t be able to receive a world-class education or participate and thrive in our globally connected and technologically dependent markets.  

The need for computer education in Africa is enormous and expanding.

How SBF Helps

We are dedicated to providing free technology access and community-based training to impoverished African students – giving them the knowledge and tools necessary for participation in the global market.

We go beyond computers and connectivity:

• Setting up Computer labs in 68 public Moroccan schools and 22 South African schools; in 2007, we’ll replicate our process in Senegal, Mauritania, Tanzania and Kenya

• Training teachers to use these computers and working with school officials to develop world-class curriculum

• Establishing a network of professionals to provide ongoing maintenance and support
